Descent Into Madness

By rdomain on October 2, 2022 12:44 pm

Music for acoustic guitar.

This is a scene from a very demented feature length film I've been hired for 'additional music'. This scene highlights the main character's descent into madness.  I left some of the dialog/fx in at the start to set the scene.

Created using nothing but an acoustic guitar which was then manipulated with an Octatrack, Cocoquantus and Boum. A touch of reverb and delay added in post.

I can absolutely hear the point where the mushrooms start to hit and alice goes deep deep into the rabbit hole.

My favorite moment is when you break the "process music" predictability around 00:44. It's a decent, then a leap, then jog, then an anxious climb... into madness. heart

you did a very good job here. I went mad as well.

Fun and unsettling.  Delivers exactly what the title promises.

I did this to my mom's favorite cassette once when I was 2... smile (she also wen't mad)

Thanks everyone.  I'll get round to replying and listening to track hopefully this week. I've been crazy busy.  Appreciated as always!

Damn.  She's obviously not a fan of tape warble then.  tongue

Oh damn yea the mushroom turbo does kick in at :44 Like, "ok i'm feeling it, uhhh guys? should I be feeling it this much!?" I like how it morphs almost into this high pitch string shrill.  Def gets the remaining hairs I have left standing lol.  Excellent work and glad to see you're keeping busy! smile

Hahaha... indeed!  Totally heard the same vibe with the intense strings feel.  I guess it is intense strings in a way but acoustic guitar strings spinning out of control in a lofi sampler.  Thanks mate!  Definitely lots of things keeping me busy. A good byproduct for WB too!
