Outer Limits

I decided to keep this one pretty simple with the structure and get a nicely flowing chord progression with the droney pad sound. I then added the melody using Reason's quad note generator player, recording some generated ideas then carving out a melody that appeared between the notes.

That set the scene for where the track felt like it wanted to go (kind of reminded me of the chill exploration in Outer Wilds), so I extended the chords into a pre-chorus and chorus, and a melody in the same vein over them. I added some filtering of parts and layering of the melody to build things up over time, but I would've liked to go further with that if I'd had more time.

Love Outer Wilds smile I can especially feel the connection when the melody gets a bit pluckier around 1:05, but the overall vibe is a great match. Feels like a chill, happy adventure.

The drum patterns of this is beautiful! I like that it started with a dark mood then unexpectedly alternate to happy & hopeful
