Momiji

By Sub Delay on November 16, 2014 8:49 am

I put my girlfriend's cousin on the spot by asking if she could sing an old Japanese folk song to use for Weeklybeats, but she generously indulged my request and sang a verse from "Momiji".
The title means "autumn leaves" so seems appropriate for this season smile

The ending has me plucking (badly) on an actual taishogoto that was given to me while visiting Japan.
I've been fascinated by this instrument for some time and was super stoked to have received such an unexpected and amazing gift!

Nice and crackly. Good stuff.

Beautiful!
(The Taishogoto sounds like a wonderful instrument, a perfect gift)

Exquisite!

Very beautiful. The dry voice sounds perfect with the atmosphere and clicks. Almost ethnographic. Enjoy your time over there.

great.

Really beautiful piece. Such a clean voice recording along with that lofi instrumental recording... Quite a fit!
