My wife said I should do a country song about sitting around a campfire this week, so that's what I did. I never played slide guitar, but stuck my ring finger in a skinny shot glass and went for it, so that was interesting. I had a good time making this song, and it was on a pretty condensed timeline due to other obligations this weekend.

Like the use of the sound of flames that opens this one up. The slide guitar sounds good! I really like the lyrical imagery in this song. Reminds me of some of my favorite memories from hiking and camping. Super relatable. I also agree with blighter that the "burns away bad memories..." line is really good!

I'm a big fan of classic folk and country songs, this felt like a great modern take on that era. Great job on that slide guitar, I bet you would've killed with a pedal steel sound too.
Steve, I have wanted to take time to listen to the music on WB and finally got a chance (and partly because a meetup is coming). You have a great collection of songs that have a lot of originality and cover several genre. Some are quite beautiful and very heartfelt - knowing there is probably some very good stories behind them. I continue to be amazed songs like these can be created in a week. Great job. Wondering if you would allow anyone else to learn and perform (even if it's only at the camp fire) your songs. This is one I would love to play on starry night (or asking for a friend).
