Here we go week 48!

****
I'm toying with the idea of doing a weekly beats themed podcast/radio show in the off season. I'd feature a different artist each week, listen to a handful of songs with potentially an interview about your experience doing weeklybeats and/or process, etc.

Let me know in the comments what you think about that idea.

On to the song,

My regular process is to just make a bunch of stuff and then once I have enough I start piecing it together into an arrangement.

I started out with what I'd call the chorus that starts at 1:58. I knew I wanted to build to it but wasn't sure how.

I built the staccato 16th note section that ended up starting out with.
A less frantic synth section that starts at 55 and then kind of a prechorus section to build to the chorus.

Once I had it arranged I added some variations to the melodies and some risers to delineate the parts and tweaked the drums a bit.

I feel like this breathes really well with some good ups and downs to keep it interesting. I really like the symphony of sound in the chorus and the melodies that play around each other.

I had fun making it and I hope you have fun listening!

Oh, I like this one. The build in the beginning, and that break to the slower part at the end:55 was perfect to give it some space. Great dynamics and energy throughout - really like the sections and themes in this.

I like the grit on the mix - feels like it’s bumping the red, gives it a nice intensity. Awesome track!

Oh, and forgot to say - I’d absolutely listen to a podcast like that. I know I’m missing a ton of great music on WB, and I don’t often get a chance to do a dive into creators like I’d want. “Behind the music” would be a plus.

I love this track! Very urgent and cinematic. The chords gave me shivers and how it all builds and moves is constantly engaging.

Lovely section at 1:00. That’s a nice buzzy synth lead. Great use of pitch bends. Ooooh and those new chords at 2:00 are an awesome change up! Nice job with this track. Feels very cohesive. I love the idea of a WB podcast! Would be fun to hear how people talk about their process.

Oh that 2 minute mark chorus - literally a chorus - is just glorious! Works well with the distressed lead too. Gotta credit the drums/rhythm though - they're dialed in perfectly to carry the arrangement through and support those dreamy swirly synths. Really great track.

i can hear that you were having fun making this, it's a delight to listen to. i think i'm on my 4th time through now  big_smile

love the idea of a WB podcast/ radio show!

Good progression.

There's been a few attempts at making a podcast over the years, I think OD tried something like that as well. We tried to record the weeklymeets back when they were still happening as a test run a few years back as well.

We'd definitely be down to listen/participate for sure.

When the layers kick in it gets quite epic sounding.  Hits some different moods/textures on its journey as well.  Weeklybeats podcast sounds like a cool idea and a way to keep the community feeling going during the off year.

I don't know if this is way off, but it feels kinda funky to me. In a good way. Something about it makes me wanna move my shoulders to the beat. Epic sense of build at the end!

+1 Love the idea of the podcast/radio thing!

Excellent and as somebody said it's quite cinematic. Nice!
