helloooo week 35!

Came across a cool drum loop and recently acquired the disposable planets M8 instrument pack.
Both of those elements gave me some new direction and inspiration this week.

As far as process goes, I've been trying to lean into just creating as many ideas as possible at first.
Not letting myself get bogged down on arrangement too early.
Some of the parts I created didn't really work in this context but I liked them and thought they were worth salvaging. So I salvaged them and I'm 90% done with next weeks song because of it!

Enjoy my week 35 creation and looking forward to hearing yours!

par excellence

Yeah! I love that beginning lead part and how it opens up at 0:50. And the harmony parts in the second half are soooo great! The way you pass the melody between the different instruments and ranges is really slick. Nice work!

Thanks! I ended up reusing a melody line as a bass line. Def finding lots if value in passing a melody or similar variations to different instruments. It’s familiar but different to listen to.

I dig the big full sound of this.  It already sounded huge and then it swelled up even bigger.  Nice groove and some sweet melodies.

This slaps so hard. Especially when the pads kick in at 0:52, it gives the tune such a feeling of grandness. Fantastic work. And really cool to hear these drum loops taking you in weird directions - I really dig where this one took you. Looking forward for more!
The approach of just creating a bunch of sketches and ideas of whatever weird shit pops in your noggin is great. Really frees you from a bunch of creative constraints.
Excited to listen to your next submission, seems like it'll be a treat too smile

This is such a bop, I am nodding my head to this. I totally love the groovyness of it as well as the overall sound design. Amazing stuff

The bass is very groovy against the beat. Fun melodies over that, no notes!

I like how it evokes chiptune vibes but by the finale moves into hi-fi territory with massive sounds.

1:35 got me making Very Serious Face over here.
this rules, SQF!

Really enjoy the beat in this one, the bass compliments it so nicely. The sustained, higher notes at the end gave me this culminating feeling without getting unnecessarily loud or busy, really nicely done!

Noice love the intro beat immediately and how the kit itself sounds.  Ooof when the chorus with the synth lead kicks in hell yais! Had me nodding along.  The play of the percussion in that main drum loop is so addictive and then when the mix gets thickened with the synths, such a nice full sound. Awesome work!

Solid bass, thumbs up.

I love these funky bends.
