orange soda W21

Random m8 name, but hat tip to artist orange drink, I tried to channel some OD energy.

Mikey303 303 patch for the bass, I know I'm not doing the 303 justice but I might be revisiting this patch again!

Kind of have 2 bridge sections, change up the feel a bit from weird to happy and back again. I had some parts that I really wanted to make work and did my best to transition.

I think the drums and hihats really give it a good energy. I tried to let things breath a little more like skipping bass notes where I'd normally try to fill in every measure.

Overall happy with how it turned out.
Thats a wrap for 21, on to the next!

On the WB process side of things:
I'm starting to shift from a mentality of oh no what will I come up with to being curious about what will come out of the process. I'm realizing I can't plan this shit, I just have to get started and experiment and find things I like, and if I still like them the next day we have a winner. I'm sure some life lessons to pull from all of this after 52 weeks.

Never hurts to channel a little Orange Drink.  This one has a fun sound and energy,  And yeah, the curiosity is one of the coolest parts of WB.  Having done a few of these now I'm pretty sure I'll come up with something each week, but what exactly I'll have at the end of week 52 is a total mystery.

This is such a great way to approach it. Like, you're comfortable knowing you can get SOMETHING out pretty constantly. It's now just a matter of letting yourself enjoy the process and seeing what on earth comes out. Hopefully it works. Many times it won't, and that's alright.

I like the swingy feel this one has, the drums and perc are so damn fun.
And I agree with Cosmic Cairns, never hurts to chennel your inner Orange Drink, hahaha... We could all use some of that energy ❤️

Anyways, nicely done here! Looking forward to what's next!!!

oh wow, incredibly fun feel here! so bouncey and groovy!

adding to the choir here re: your approach and also the Orange Drink love  heart

Cool, quirky vibe. Like the mix of sounds that sound soft and some that sound rawer and sharper, they complete each other I guess!

Love the bounce to this one. Really effective use of bells and such to add texture. I think the bass line is really great too, leaves some space for everything else while still being integral. Why is the can sound at the start so good lol?

It’s a better mental state than dreading the process!

Ha maybe because it was a beer I recorded and not a soda? I just opened a can and added a bit of reverb, came out great. Glad you enjoyed it !

great track! groovy vibe throughout

+1 to the OD vibes/inspo.  Love the thick squelchy bass and how it plays with those trebly bell leads.  Some Plaid feels as well for me.  The harmonies playing off the head nodder of a beat is an awesome combo.

Those're some feisty bubbles
