Insanity that we're down to the last 3 weeks!
Where has the year gone!

It's really interesting having a musical journal of the year to listen back and feel transported back to that week in some kind of way.

I also thought I would be completely burnt out by this point. I definitely hit some rough patches but every time I just made music for fun, not the output, the output followed. Some life lessons to be applied elsewhere for sure.

Alright... I save the remainder of reminiscing for week 52.

---- The song ----
I started out with these hypersynth swell chords.
Then came up with a cool baseline. Drums are there to do drum things and keep it steady, nothin fancy.

I was able to make the parts flow together pretty well and I got a good lift toward the end adding some horn like synth sounds. Those are also 6 wave, single note, hypersynth with a little swarm, clip amp distortion.

A different style from previous weeks but I'm happy with it.

On to the next!

I can't explain it, but there's something SO FRIGGIN COOL about what happens at the 1:55ish minute mark. The chords and melody keep shifting from chillax dancy to eerie evil to hopeful. IT'S SO GOOD!!!! Please explain yourself and your magic! Hahahahaha...
For some reason, the stringy pads are kind of reminding me of Bruce Springsteen's "Streets of Philadelphia".
Anyways, your tune is such a cool ride, this is awesome!

Ha, I think I accidentally switched keys a few times just coming up with ideas which I didn't really notice until the transition part at 3:30. 1:55 the sparkly top end part just offsets it so nice. Thank you jegasus!! I can't explain anything, I just make things lol. Also love that comparison to streets of philadelphia!

I like that idea of a musical journal for the year. I do sometimes listen back to my older submissions and some of them remind me different places where I made them.
Anyways, loved the chord changes at 1:30. The track sounds awesome!

That swell progression sounds great, nice glue to base the track around! Trying to decide the feel it’s giving me - both sort of 80s and cinematic. Nice changes to the chord progression to mix things up, and that sort of ripping horn sound and 2.45 is nicely harsh. All comes around to a suitably epic feeling end. Great track!

I honestly learn so much listening to your M8 tracks - I think the M8 lends itself to my having "habits" and doing things a particular way, and when I listen to your music it inspires me to figure out how you're doing your sounds and approach, because it feels just different enough that I'm intrigued and curious lol. Which is a very nerdy way of saying this was an awesome song and it got my brain thinking lol.

In particular, you wield the hyper synth with some warm, beautiful mastery ... really kinda perfect. this is such a chill track and those drums, oof. Awesome.

v solid! great mood. bit of tasteful dirt. love this.

Very strong stuff, nice and grounded.

Right? It's one thing to have a radio song take you back to a time but one of your own creations is it's own special journal entry. Thanks Xavier!

wow, that's amazing to hear. I'm always trying to pick apart what you and the other m8 creators are doing so to hear I'm a source of inspiration for others is a wonderful thing. I've been trying to design more of my sounds lately so maybe that's a piece of what's different. IDK just doin my thing lol

Spider, as always, appreciate your listen and prolific commenting.

this just sounds MASSIVE in headphones and soooo tasty. like i want to take a bite out this song. IT'S ALMOST 2025, WHY CAN'T WE EAT MUSIC YET??? WE WERE PROMISED THE FUTURE

love the chord changes and the sneaky melodies winding through. i was instantly singing along.
keep going!

There's something futuristic and spacey about this, but also chilled out and cool.  Like hanging out at the best lounge im Alpha Centauri.

Instantly hooked with those intro pad swells.  The lead sounds are perfect for filling out the rest of the frequencies.  The bassline is subtle but really adds some oomph to the mix.  Ooof that lead at around 2:54 sounds so dark and good!  Awesome progression altogether!

This has such a cool feel to it like I'm heading out on an epic journey with a pack on my back. The change in atmosphere at 1:30 when the noise drops out is really sweet. I love that deep brassy lead around 3:00! Really nice work on this one.
