checkpoint - W15

By SQF on April 12, 2026 4:05 pm

Another M8 week.
I was on a bike ride yesterday and kids had written "checkpoint" in chalk on the sidewalk and I took it as a sign for a song title.

You know, Week 15’s as good a time for a checkpoint as any. big_smile

The bass and kick in this one are so cool! Slick track all around.

That was definitely a message from the universe giving you a song title.  The opening has a super upbeat and catchy feel with a great bass line and then the synth lines come in with a bit of dissonance which is really cool.

Great bass and the snare is so smooth!

Oh yes loving that thick wall of synth with the dark drums \m/ Love those lil harmonies that get all square-like. Excellent groove that had me nodding along.

such groove, very bass!
I LIKE THIS CHECKPOINT

Dude, yeeeeessss!!! Really digging this one! I can 100% feel the SQF-ness in here. I think it's something about the sustained warm buzzy tones and some patterns my brain notices in your choice of note sequences. Anyways, super dope!!!

Love the warmth of honestly all the synth sounds here. Some really cool melodic choices too over a feel-good, steady groove the whole way through. Congrats on passing the checkpoint smile

I like! It's calm, but not too calm. Light but not too goofy. Just right. Slow but, still moving! Bass, oh yes please. Melody, playful like a good buddy.
I was making a video of web app UI bug at work ... some charts were oddly pulsing ... and they pulsed just about in time with this! I kept this playing in background of the video to share with developers. I want to share it here, but probably shouldn't share the software on public web. Pretty stoked about how that went down. I can sign off and go into the weekend properly now!

I like the electronic drone layer. Great choice of textures of sounds, there is smoothness, there is crunchy textures. The finger snaps (?) are just good, giving a sense of space. The melody is nice, and I like how you make it evolve with different layers of melodies and sounds, like adding another synth subtly. It never gets boring. Really cool track.

The bassline was actually part of what inspired me for next week's track. (Artemis)
tldr: Love the low end! (And the rest too!)

not dead yet here - thanks for checkin' in
uplifting flow of energy - building to something more hopeful heart
