Let me know if I should steer clear of vocals or do more lol

Thanks again for my crew of regular listeners and commenters, I do my best to return the favor.

Love the texture and tone of the track. I like the break at 2:12! Vocal sounds good and sits great in the rest of the track. Bravo.

Soooo true

Also, heavy shit, such is capitalism unfortunately

This is honestly pretty amazing, I love the overall arrangement. The vocals are also good and fitting (so yes, you can continue doing those ๐Ÿ˜…). I really like that it starts off as something lo-fi and then goes over into this electro-ish bop

Excellent groove immediately with the drums and then that slick bassy-growling synth comes in \m/  Love the FM feel to those synth lines.  Ohhh the heavier lower notes especially! A nice unexpected turn midway through.  Lush chords that brought me back to 90s electronic ala Underworld/Future Sound of London.  Lyrics seamlessly fit right into the groove and have such a head nodding flow to them.  Vocals sounded great def throw them in when you feel the inspo \m/  love those outro chords especially

YEEEEESSSS MOAR WB RAAAAPS!!!!!! Hahahahahaha... I love this, the main beat is so damn funky and groovy - exactly the style I've come to expect from your stuff.
And this is an awesome way to debut lyrically, too!!! Hot damn... I recently heard about the NYC fare jumper story, it's so impossibly stupid... Feels gross to have to rely on an institution that routinely does shit like that... And typically, even though there is a lot of talk about defunding the police and rerouting it to other services well suited to deal with the myriad problems the police are typically called for, the rerouting never happens. Instead, police fundng is actually INCREASED because now it's been shown that they need better training and equipment.
It's truly disgusting.
So thanks for making this and shedding more light on the situation.

There really is so much to be angry about and the fact that publicly funded police are increasingly just thinly veiled private security for the rich and powerful is certainly something to get steamed at.  The music does a good job of sounding angry, but also groovy and funky.  And yes, do more vocals if the mood strikes you.

Groovy!

I don't know how you guys can program stuff that are that groovy. Good job.

oh hell yes, SQF! very into this, and very much enjoyed and felt yr vox.
it's all so effed

your track on the other hand, is excellent. cheers!

Such a nice groove here. The shift around 2:15 felt great, such a chill moment. The soft piano around 4:10 was also unexpected but really nice. Well said.

I agree, also about the cats. Very interesting structure to have a brief vocal interlude entering well into the track. Please do more vocals.

Title is an universal truth.

that cats and all that, yes.  and the song, really fun, as they are each week!  i don't know how you do it, but i am enjoying your tracks week after week.  (persistence, practice and all that probably, it's clearly working. smile)

I was waiting for the rap... really digging all the synths and the beat and general m8 goodness and then I was kinda thinking "wow how's the vocal gonna fit in here" ... and it was pretty perfect lol. Really nice mix there, good rap, great track!

Love how the delay creates a nice shuffle groove. Who woulda thought that when you militarize the police that you would get an escalation in violence. Protect and serve has turned into obey or pay.

really appreciate it! Persistence does wonders. Trying to do more weird shit and break out of the boxes I've created for myself.

Awesome, felt like the right moment. Maybe should have done more bars but the drums dropping out and leading into the next section seemed to emphasize the message more.

OBEY OR PAY. Unfortunately obeying often doesn't pay off in the end.

That spy movie vibe / chiptune soundtrack is excellent. And that "intermission rap" is just radio-voice exquisite. Works great!

Humble suggestion: I really wonder how this would sound with a modern bass and not the chiptune bass. My thinking is that the other chiptuney sounds have enough crunch as is and a more full-bodies bass sound would elevate this good song to great.

Ha thanks!
I think thats a great suggestion and point about the bass not needing to add to the crunch already present with the other intstruments. Maybe there's a remix in the future!

So good. This is preposterous. Chords are nuts, textures are crisp.
