Weakness as a Virtue (WB08)

By spry on February 23, 2020 7:33 pm

May have rushed this one a little bit but I was feeling the vibe. Listened to a bunch of old school trance this week and took some of the styles and threw them in here with my own flavor. Recorded Vocals and some unplanned percussion samples from my clipboard falling on the floor (snare stack), me snapping, my glass of water, and me flicking the paper around.

Wrote a background track with instruments and percussion in about an hour while listening to examples. Took me a good 2 hours to write, rewrite, record and decide on vocals. Took a break and picked it up the next day. Spend another hour chopping percussion samples and putting them into usable formats, about 45 minutes sequencing and mixing it and 15 minutes mixing the master channel. Total work time about 5 hours.

Lyrics:

The choice in front of us
Uncertain which way to go
The battle lines and cold confines of other peoples homes
Convincing ourselves we are not alone

It a habit
Its strange
Its tough to maintain
Its tragic
Its a shame
So I'm gonna get up to rearrange

Lets go!

really love what you are doing this year with acoustic instruments, samples, and vocals.  filtering out the refrain "gonna get up to rearrange" was sooooo dope.

club banger fo sho

Kinda sounds like New Order meets Praga Khan. Good track.
