I guess i felt like changing my snare this week.  Trying to make room in my composition for more acoustic and recorded elements. 

Spent 40 minutes writing patterns and putting the ambient sound loops together. 20 minutes sussing the structure, another 25 mixing and making sure my cpu didn't overload in the playback with the re-addition of some sidechain compressors on the ambient sounds to shape the rhythm a little more, 15 minutes putting in the filters and volumizing.  Total work time 1 hour 40 minutes.
