Next Phase (WB21)

Took a different approach by writing all of the musical parts, the melody the bass the accompaniment etc. and then wrote in the drums as a bit of an afterthought.

Spent 40 minutes writing the melodic elements of the song then 20 minutes writing drums, 10 minutes recording the structure and 20 minutes mixing it all together.  total work time 1 hour 30 minutes

Very cool vibe to this!  i really enjoyed it!

Really digging the melodic side of this one

Really good evocation of traveling throught time and space. Faved.

It's so gentle, I like it.

So chill!  What do you think would happen if you gave yourself more time to work on music?  Do you think this amount of time is your sweet spot?

Thanks! Going for that simple and effective chord prog/melody pairing

I dont rightly know haha.  I dont typically get a whole lot of time to devote to it and i have this thing about completing a project in a single sitting.  I havent really been pushing myself to hit any particular target time this year.  Its been naturally sticking between 1 and 3 hours it seems.  Sometimes i feel like if i spend too much time on a song, it becomes muddy or unclear in some way.  To paraphrase from Bob Ross, "youve got to let the canvas take the paint it needs and leave it at that. dont keep messing with it or it will just turn into a mud mixer"
