Inherent Contradiction (WB39)

This song was an exercise in frustration. Recorded some guitar licks as my recorded element this week.
Spent about 30 minutes putting together a backing beat and AB chord progression. Started around 120, decided I liked 111 better. Spent about an hour messing around playing guitar trying to figure something out. Tried to play some licks but it was too fast for me. Slowed everything down to about 86 and played some loops i was reasonably happy with. Spent another hour chopping them up into usable samples, quantizing them, and resampling them. I didnt realize it until later but somewhere along the resampling process i crushed the volume with a compressor and it kinda sounded peaked out. I wasnt willing to recreate the whole process so I just tried to work around it. Pulled the song back up to 111 and the guitar sounded good. Spent the next 1 and a half hours mixing and remixing, adding fxs and taking them away, etc. I settled for what i had and built a structure in about 30 minutes. did some final adjusting for another 30 minutes and decided to hit print. Total work time about 5 hours.
