I promise I didn't mean for it to be 7 minutes long.  What I started working on for this week is turning out to be a lot bigger than I initially planned, so I pulled up something half done from long ago and finished it, which ended up adding 3 1/2 more minutes.  It's starts out in C dorian mode and eventually moves to G# Dorian, which is cool.  Plato thought Dorian was one of the "proper" modes to use, so I wanted to try it out.  Also, the tempo changes a lot all over the place.  There are NO cymbals, crashes, hi-hats or even snares in this.  Just toms.

It has some transitions that I really like and are some of the best I've done, I think, but there's also an annoying "Game Of Thrones" sounding bit in the middle that is probably a big reason I abandoned it for so long.

It's always worth experimenting with various modes.  Each one really has their own flavour. Not sure why Plato thought dorian was the proper one.  Silly philosopher.  Haha.

I enjoyed this journey, no need to apologize for the length. Different journeys are of different lengths.

This song felt like a wonderful traveling companion in a busy Cafe, creating a dynamic pattern of sounds into the background of my diary writing moment.

Thank you.  I liken songs to journeys and a lot of my favorite music is like that.

Feeling those traveling vibes myself but like I'm on a magic carpet ride through the village and countryside smile Especially enjoyed the melody at 4:48. Well done!

This was so fun. Love your choice of drums…effective and gave a really distinct character. Awesome movements in this with shifts of feels. Had sort of a carnival atmosphere to me for a lot of it, a celebration…and then night falls after six minutes big_smile. So many great little melodies, liked the ones at about 3:15 and 5:15 a lot.

I hear you about long tracks - I was more than a little worried about mine too. But sometimes a song will tell you how long it needs to be - yours had a story to tell and a journey to take, felt perfect to me. Well done smile

I'm glad you guys liked some of the melodies.  They always seem so simple/simplistic to me and I never know if others will like them.
