That time I read the Owner's manual

By Sorkfot on March 24, 2024 11:11 pm

Tired after a pizza party with friends. I made 5 pizzas and this tune afterwards!

I read the manual for the Roland GI-20 midi guitar controller this week. I found a global setting for maximium pitch bend range, set it to 12 and that made it behave much better. Before it used to bend up just fine, but when releasing, it would go out of tune. Evidence of this can be heard in earlier tunes, especially WB22, when I used the guitar synth quite often. I'd set pitch bend range with the pitch bend range-setting before, like you'd think you would, but apparently you have to read the manual too. Anyway better late than never. Might motivate me to use the guitar synth more often this year. This is all live played stuff. You get much better results when recording MIDI slowed down, editing, clearing up glitches etc.

Acoustic guitar
Precision bass
Korg 01R/W leads and pads played with Roland GI-20 guitar-midi-controller. (GK-3 mounted on my Charvel shred guitar for those interested)
Casio DM-100 Pads
Casio MT-65 Drums

Lovely tune! Owner’s manuals for the win, and pizza too!

Reminds me of a crazy interlude during the show Severance. Great work and LOVE the title - like theres this whole other world out there describing how to use a thing properly

Must've been a harrowing, but enlightening experience
It's definitely helped the song at least, it's a banger

Thanks for the nice comments smile The guitar synth is still glitchy and lagging as shit, but it's a fun and expressive tool to use sometimes.
