Surprise Dance

By Sorkfot on June 19, 2022 10:17 pm

Good vibes this week! A lot of new interesting cheap gear.
Korg 01R/W Seems to have stopped crashing after changing the power supply and changing the screen! YAY. Keys and guitar synth sounds through the Korg.
Electric guitar straight through a BOSS BE-5 that I got this week. It has the best stereo chorus I've ever heard.
Akai SG01v - Leads and perc (also a new synth that I traded a pedal for.)
Drums - Real samples controlled by Alesis D5 and DIY drumpads. I've expanded the drumpad to 7 triggerpads now!
Precision bass
Acoustic guitars
Casio DM-100 mic'd with a flea market find - a JVC M201 stereo mic.

omg, this is amazing. love the break from :46 to :56 and it's return towards the end

Just excellent, your unmistakable combination of beauty, funk & attitude. Love the minimalism of the synth lead (melody-wise and timbre-wise) over the crisp & crunchy rhythm section. Very nice guitar solo outro, with the pad really coming into its own there.

This took me by surprise, but it's a very pleasant surprise.

the folk-fusion-y segments right up against the super funk grooves make such a fun listen.  also excuse me the fill around 1:30 in???

chill tunes to play rollercoaster tycoon to

What's the brass hits / trombone sample sound? Delightful.

This is blue skies / fresh air type music and man I needed this this week (this month). heart

Thank you all! I remember Rollercoaster tycoon from the 90's. Will try. Another challenge would be to make an appropriate tune for Transport tycooon.

The brass is called Ana-Lips from the magnificent Korg 01rw. Lol. I also like it very much. It will be featured in this weeks tune
