Strawberry pizza

By Sorkfot on February 4, 2024 10:11 pm

This week's entry was my first time using Renoise Redux (bought it today). I found some very old samples from the tracking days on my hard drive. Trumpet and trombone samples recorded in circa 2000 with a Sony fart microphone.

I also tried beat slicing for the first time. You can hear the result here!

Funny samples in Redux
Synth guitar controlling funny samples in Redux
Casio MT-65 drum samples
Beat sliced Black Sabbath drums
Electric bass
Spanish guitar, with missing A string
Casio DM-100 flute (almost forgot to use this today, so I had to do another mixdown)

Strawberry marinara recipe:

Red onion
Garlic cloves
Olive oil
Strawberries
Balsamic vinegar
Salt and pepper to taste

I paired this sauce with Ventricina salami and pecorino cheese. Not the most normal tasting pizza, but still very tasty!

Dang, that synth oboe shreds.

This is so very good, relaxing while interesting too. I liked the sprinkle of beat sliced drums there. The samples sound great!

Thanks for the recipe. Will have to try it. Hopefully as tasty as this track was to listen to.

wait that is a real thing?  that sounds very strange!  but probably similar to pineapple pizza

great track!

Thanks for all your nice comments, orangedrink! I listen to your tracks weekly and like your vibe, I'll try to comment more often.

Regarding the strawberry sauce, it wasn't all too strange. A little bit more sweet than tomato. I think the pairing could have been better, some stronger cheese, perhaps. Today I'm cooking a traditional tomato sauce for the pizza. Regarding pineapple on pizza, I'm not a fan. smile

I could send you some flute samples from the casio dm-100. The magic with that synth is that it has stereo chorus on all sounds, including the drums and the cymbals, which provides for some funny sounds. When using the non modulated channel only, the sounds are pretty plain.

Pffff, going thru your tracks and so much good stuff. I am truly impressed.

I was thinking strawberry pizza to be a kind of dessert, but these thick sounds can't lie.
