Sorkfot Finale

By Sorkfot on January 1, 2023 11:45 pm

Thank you all for your nice comments during this years WB! I made 52 tracks! I've learned a lot and I've had a lot of fun. I wish I would have spent more time with this last tune, but overall I'm happy. I've learned that the most important thing is having energy/motivation and a deadline, followed by a non-inhibited workflow. Thanks to this effort, I've been improving my workflow over the year, repairing and building gear, hooking up everything and I'm excited to see what I can come up with a freer timetable. The creative flow is quite automatic and nothing to worry about.

Akai SG01v for moogy sounds
Korg 01R/W Guitar synth (Brasshole and Pan flute)
Drum samples (I made a new sample pack with the drum sounds from my Casio MT-65 this week)
Acoustic guitars
Electric guitar
Precision bass
and...
Casio DM-100, a central thread of my WB effort (It's been on 95% of my tracks this year)

Happy new year everybody!

My apologies, but fucking hell, this one hit all the right spots. A true finale indeed! I could highlight anything and everything here, but I’ll mention the drums: the drums!

Beautiful... truly. Great energy and swirling progression.  Ohhhh funky at 1:00!  Lovely melodies and so much variety.  A great finale.  Happy New Year!

Congratulations. this is a masterpiece. it has folky, funky and also spacerock charme. best for you in 2023.

proper oldschool prog! what a finale for the year, congratulations for making all 52.

Dope finale! Lots of instruments and sounds going on, in a good way (where do u find the time)! You posted some really nice inspiring tracks throughout the year, thanks for that! Nice bass and drums, really cheezy solos, love it!!!

Nice reflections about the workflow, this is something I wanna do in the future as this year was a big ol experiment in many styles but with no central workflow except a few bits and tricks I learned. Exciting to keep an eye on what you make next! Happy 2023!

Great follow-up from last week, and amazing finisher of the year with so much stuff, not sure what you'd even add at this point. Keep on funking and a happy new year.
