Drum and Bass

By snoopy over the hills on January 4, 2026 7:15 pm

After a year with less music and more movement, mostly cycling, I am fully hyped to return to weekly beatmaking.

For the restart I made a drum and bass track built from a wav.ryders community sample pack. While previewing the drum samples, the direction was immediately clear: 180 BPM.

At the time I was on a wellness trip in the mountains with my wife, working in short, limited sessions. You can hear that pressure in the fast tempo, the driving groove and the sharp stabs. It feels like stress turning into rhythm.

I usually do not produce DnB, so I am honestly surprised how solid this one turned out.

Looking forward to the challenge of making one beat every week and to hearing what everyone else comes up with.

It is good to be back!

Love the drive from the drums, and how there's subtle variety in them. I also like the subtle acid elements here and there. Good opener for the year!
