It seems like this one came together the more I took out of it.

A catchy, gentle tune. Solid indie pop, and I can't think of any extra instrumentation that would improve it, so good job with subtractive composition! My only complaint is that I really like your vocal performance and it's just buried enough in the mix that it's hard for me to hear some lyrics. The plus: I didn't mind listening 3 times ![]()
Nice song. It came out well.
On the subject of taking elements out, I read about a study on human problem solving where groups were given puzzles to solve and were observed to find insights into the human behavior. It was found that most people resorted to adding pieces to the puzzle rather that subtracting even though the answer could be obtained faster that way. I think about that a lot now especially when working on creative projects.

Thanks for listening! Yeah I was experimenting with letting the vocals breathe, without much compression. It got the effect I was after but lost something in the mix.

Thanks! I'm not a puzzler but people say they are fun. IDK.
I feel that, but also, this song is here, which is nice. Of course I can probably just take this song with me.
