Between Calls

By sleepside on February 22, 2026 11:56 pm

Hey, I was on-call for work this week, which is not super conducive to make a finished track. You can hear the process of me trying here. This is another example of me using the Dirtywave M8 as mostly a Portastudio. Other sound sources are an armrest, a wooden pick box, two harmonicas (C and G), a jaw harp, a frog guiro/rasp, a cheap tourist wooden flute, and slide electric guitar.

Being on call sucks, but you've managed to throw together a fun track here.  The commentary you've included really adds a lot and put a smile on my face.

This is so endearing. Dang calls.

This is super cool,

I really love a track made from household items and random noises.

The voiceover just ties it together into a narrative

Thank you! I worried after posting that I might've overdone the commentary concept, so I'm glad it worked for you

I love how janky this feels, and yet it's so tight

Thank you! Purposeful jank was definitely the goal here (and seems to be what half my weeklybeats are going for this year big_smile)

Fun and lighthearted randomness. Love all the random sounds, the speech inbetween made me giggle. So good!
