-148 bpm old school drum and bass-
I've always (past 30ish years) loved and looked up for drum and bass and jungle. Back in 2006 I started composing my first "real" jungle/drum and bass tracks. Since then I've been trying to produce some kind of soft and laid back old school drum and bass. LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Breakbeat Era, Roni Size were artist I found in the late 90's. That ethos have wandered with me ever since. Especially while using trackers, dnb was/is the thing. This time I think it's my first whole composition with a DAW. It was fun. Amigo sampler, some Pizza Hotline LOW POLY drum and bass breaks and few vst instruments.
This is about origins. My life is about to change in a beautiful way soon, so I think this moment in time took me back to where it all started.
ps. Mixing dnb has always been a HUGE challenge for me - that's one reason why I don't make this kind of tunes very often. Happily this weeks deadline was approaching, so I decided just to put it out, even though I'm not quite satisfied with the mix. But the arrangement - I think it is spot on old school styley! ![]()
