Okay I learned how to set up the automation lane for a VST option in Reaper. From the FX window, right-click the VST setting and select Enable Host Automation. This gives it a value starting at 0. Then select Param at the top-right and select Show Track Envelope > XXX (where XXX is the name of the setting). A purple automation line appears in that track's lane. And for binary settings, any value higher than 0 still counts as turning it completely on. So... yeah 0.009 is still completely on... the ending where it snaps back onto the beat sounds a little bit Mongolian to me... also I recorded this in Audacity instead because something just wasn't sounding right otherwise, but as expected there's this subtle hissing or puffing air quality when you do that. I don't even understand what I'm sensing but maybe it's the MP3 encoder. Well, whatever. It's not important just like my life. I tried putting the .wav from Audacity into Reaper instead, and maybe that's better? The pentatonic slop guitar was just a placeholder at first but when I added the glissando I already felt satisfied by just the noises it was making XD I finished this yesterday but did that Audacity recording part today. It's snowing a lot outside rn.

I love the groove of the drums on this track! Curious how they came about! The sounds for the melodies are also very pleasant!

This is awesome - I am really enjoying it, drums sound really cool and great choice of synth sounds - nice chill and happy vibe big_smile

There's some pretty crazy stuff happening, and I love it.
Glad you found out a little more about Reaper. A little more every week I suppose.
