Artificial Night

Somewhat channeling Glass this week, and slapped a bit synth lead on top hehe. Feels a little naff if I'm honest but its a super fun style to appropriate.

Total 1900s wind music, really cool vibe on this one.  That synth lead on top is definitely a nice touch.  Its seems out of place when you think about the rest of the instrumentation, but had you not mentioned it I probably wouldn't have noticed. Totally works on this.

Thanks man! Yeah the wind instruments translate so nicely in a sample library. And yeah, the synth just felt right. Honestly keen to slap a big synth on just about anything.
This track doesn't really do it justice, but if you haven't heard much Philip Glass you should definitely check it out!

I agree man, you can work synths into anything.  Yeah I had a few professors in college who were big on Philip Glass, so I remember hearing some of his work but never got too into it.  I'll have to check it out this week though.

This feels like such a surreal experience, I love it.

Thanks so much!

I'm a big fan of Glass.  I haven't heard everything by him but I really do enjoy the piano etudes and tracks like that.  Truman Show was my first intro to him.  I def hear that influence in this track.  The synth lead has a nice effect on top of everything and I enjoyed that Glass-like chord change towards the end.  This had good tension building in it.  Nice work!

Thanks for your kind words! Yeah Truman Show is a great way into his world.
