First night of winter but it's green and dry. A cool breeze rolls in the window and you pull the blankets tighter as you drift off to sleep. You arrive at a place covered in several inches of fresh snow. The snow has stopped falling though and the air is quiet and calm. It is dark out but the snow glistens in the light of the moon and the stars hanging in a cloudless sky, lighting the world around you. As you stare out at the sparkling landscape, you contemplate the closing of another year and wonder what the next might bring. Before you know it, dawn is rising on this still, silent world and it begins to come to life again. The clean, pure snow is flattened underfoot, brushed aside, shoveled away as people begin to go about their day. You know that you too will have to go back to your own world soon, but you pull the blankets tighter so you can stay here just a little while more.
