“We found the book that represents the sum total of humanity’s collective intelligence. It’s called The Basic Laws of Broccoli. The book is subtitled: ‘A User’s Guide To The Greatest Lies.’ It’s five hundred pages long and 70% music. The book tells the story of the species. Seventy years ago today. I walked into that hall, and crushed it under my feet. Never reams nor rabble. Yesterday I walked in on my son while he was reading the laws. He balanced a kindle on his lap while doing air guitar fingers with his outstretched hands. I tried to tell myself ‘it’s ‘just a phase.’”
