Pensive

By scy on February 8, 2026 11:26 pm

Not really in the mood today (yes, of course I've only started on Sunday), wanted to do other stuff instead. But after playing around with some presets I quickly had an idea for this track, and I'm actually kind of happy with how it turned out. It starts slow, but then … well, mostly stays slow, but it's nice nevertheless big_smile Enjoy!

Edit: half/byte remixed this track for week 7: Pensive [half/byte's re-contemplation]

That is beautiful. Love the space.

I love this. Has a bit of "Amber" Autechre Era vibes to it for me. I really like that you kept it restrained, I'm pretty sure I would've dumped some distorted drums on it at some point.

Would you mind me taking this and remixing it for next week?

Thank you! I did think about adding glitchy drums at some point, but ruled it out because I wouldn't have had the time anyway.

No, not at all! I'm curious about what you'll create. I can also send you the individual tracks if you want, hit me up on Mastodon smile

I really love the vibe of this! The synth feels so organic and alive. Keep up the great work 💪

This is really cool! Nice to listen to as I work on a frustrating project, and I love how the melody meanders and explores different areas while staying consistent in tonality
