I hate it

By scottux on February 20, 2022 11:39 pm

Revisiting "Dreamstation" and trying to dig into it more and make it a longer, more dreamy piece. I kinda hate the new addition, the new phrase in this. I think I might very well end up revisiting it AGAIN but I won't post it here as yet another week's work if I do. New new next week weeeooo.

Since I have no context, I don't hate it. Dope atmosphere established with that big warbling synth and the shimmering arpeggiated synth behind it. When the bass comes in it sounds super retro and timeworn which complements everything else. I would say the only thing that throws me off a bit is how the big synth occasionally strikes on an offbeat that isn't accented or signaled in any way by the drums or bass (I'm honestly pretty shit at counting time but let's say instead of hitting at the 1, it strikes like an 8th note early or something). And personally, as a proggy dude who likes odd rhythms, I do find it's super hard to make them sound "right" when the synth in question has a delay where the echoes then fall on every following off beat. Dunno if any of that feedback is particularly helpful. Otherwise, cool track and I dig the vibe, interested in hearing what changes in it next time.

I like the bass in this track a lot as well as the light arp on the side. The main chord with chorus has this wave like effect. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing a new version and where you'll take this one in the future!

Fills up the space so nicely.

This sounds very noble and dignified to me somehow. The sombre tone is kinda nice, I like a bit of serious vibes every now and then. The sound design is absolutely on point as usual. Great track heart

Ah, beautiful arps and chords…

makes me flowting in space. I do not hate it.

Maybe more of a lucid dream station then, but it's nice still.

I like it. big_smile
