foley work for my space mining game

By scottux on February 15, 2026 7:22 pm

I've been working on a space mining game on and off the past couple months. Lightly inspired by the mining mechanics in Star Citizen, which is obvious if you've seen the mining mechanics in that game and looked at my screenshots, but I'm angling for more of a quick arcade kind of feel and setting the technology level of the game itself back in the maybe snes or older era of graphical fidelity, etc. Anyway, as the foley work I've been doing has not exactly been a complete song, I thought putting together a little crunchy scene of what happens when you overload an asteroid with laser energy too many times and pay the consequences as your ship is pelted with asteroid bits.

here's hoping the image shows up.

It sounds like I am in an elevator on an asteroid colony.

really like the sounds!!

Really top quality sound design.

So cool! Can't wait to see / hear the full game in action. big_smile

But the image refused.
