Just Drums

By Saucey-dough on June 28, 2020 8:46 pm

Hey WBs. This week was a fun collaboration. I blindly wrote drums to no music. Just the fills and tempo inside my head. Its probably a mix of metal/punk and Gloria Estefan's "Conga." I don't know.

However...check out these W26 songs and see if you notice anything!

If anyone in the WB universe ever wants to do something like this, hit me up!

What you guys did were a very fun thing to listen to. I liked the 4 tracks, very different results which is great.

Very cool initiative! How did you record the drums?

Hey this sounds like something I’ve listened to 50 times the past week...

Really cool concept man. All the tracks that came out of it are all real unique too

I agree! It was a huge surprise to see which way each of them took it.

I have a Roland TD-11 electronic kit that I use to practice/record. I use it pretty much as a huge drum shaped midi controller. I record through Logic X. Logic has a few great producer kits, but I do tend to use the Getgood Drums Modern and Massive plug in. Huge sounding kits. I then mix/master everything within Logic. I try to make the sound as real as possible!

Tell me about it! I just had a huge smile on my face listening to their tracks last night. So creative, each with their own taste.

super cool concept man.  I didn't have enough time to nail something down, maybe one week I'll make a track out of these.  killer sounding drum track

Hardy actually sent them over to me a little bit after you sent them.  I tried but didn't have too much time to work it out.  Plus I'm not so great at fast paced songs like that.  I'm more of a 85-100bpm kinda guy wink
Would be a good challenge though.

I had to have my bro tell me about your drum setup because I for real thought you had a fuckin full kit with nice-ass drum and room mics.

If I were an acoustic man, I'd totally do stuff with it. I'd touch it with my fingers and the like.
