a thousand years

Worked on some Pure Data stuff this weekend, got nowhere and felt heaps bad! So instead here I am fooling with the Bytebeat Device music toy in No Man's Sky on the PS4. The synthesizer is fun but there's not an enormous amount you can do in the sequencer. Heaps a weekly beat.

hey seems no mans sky is a good game now yikes interesting way to get stuff done! has a really cool AY-esque sound!

Definitely carrying that vibe of exploring alien planets. So are you saying you made this with an in-game instrument? Kind of like how FFXIV actually allows you to play instruments as a bard with a keyboard? If so that's a pretty sick idea for a weekly beat.

Too bad the recording quality is a little unfortunate, it sounds pretty nice otherwise.

Cheers midimachine, just a bit of fun since my original idea for the week fell over. Heaps good game!

Thanks ViridianLoom, that's right. More info here if you're interested: https://www.nomanssky.com/2019/12/beyon … 935008.481

Hey Devieus, yes it's bad! I didn't get it together to do a decent recording so this was just on my phone. I'll try to make more of an effort next time.

Also, looks as if the Bytebeat Device sequencer has some options which I had overlooked so I may have sold it a bit short here. Might have another go with it later on.

I guess the best advice I can give you is to play it on PC, but I'm sure there are recording methods for PS4 that aren't as terrible as this.

I predict that the link to my track is going to be: https://weeklybeats.com/trumbuthegn/mus … hypothesis, and if that don’t turn out to be the case, I’ll add the correct link as a comment to this comment.
