The Abandoned Subway Tunnel

By Saguaro Gigante on September 1, 2024 11:55 pm

Decided to have some fun with more of the sampled horns in Logic. I've been really like the saxophone samplers especially. Threw a little tune together and added a reverb on the stereo out which made everything sound really echoey. Kind of sounds to me like a jam in some old subway tunnel late at night.

Ha! This was such a surprise to listen to as it almost played like a noir film in my head :-) Loved the saxophone melodies and the overall mix also sounded really cool. I just thought the sax were too wide and separated and may have used some center focus. The bass gets a bit too loud in some places. But what a track! Love the ending too. Nicely done. Cheers!

Yeah this was a really cool saxophone-centric piece. You did really well with the dynamic player too, feels breathy in the right ways which is what I've found hard about trying to use sampled wind/brass instruments. Fits well with the vibe of the backing track too.
