Zipline

Put this one together on Sunday. Started the recroding a bit late and ended up working right until the deadline. On Saturday I found an old riff I recorded years ago on my phone that I liked and then took some time brainstorming some riffs to go with it. Couldn't seem to get good performances though so I decided to just practice the parts a bit and then just let it sit overnight. The next day it was much more manageable. Decided to go with a straight up rock jam for this one. Used the drummer tracks in Logic to save time with programming.

That is a kick ass main riff my dude. Not bad at all considering you started it today. Production quality is also sounding better too. Ending riff has some nice tension to it while the lead line is very epic!

I'm glad I don't have to play that hi-hat part, because it sounds like a right hand workout. Really tasty pinch harmonic in that first solo. Descending section before the end sounds super epic, and I really like where you alternate between the two notes at the end instead of changing up the rhythm like you did previously throughout the song. All of it grooves hard. Nice work.

Good classic rock track with a lot of energy! I like the main riff a lot, it stays in the head.

Oh yea, this is epic.

Thanks! That riff had been with me for a while. I actually wrote most of the song Saturday but didn’t start recording until that Sunday because I actually couldn’t play the main riff up to speed at first. I wrote it several years ago when I guess I had been playing more. By the time I finally got it down there wasn’t much time left to record. I think the production probably sounded better because I didn’t go crazy with effects and kept the amount of tracks more minimal. Also the Logic drummer seems to mix better because I guess it must be preset nicely. Where as when I make MIDI drums myself I have no idea what I’m doing…

Good thing the Logic drummer doesn’t get tired! That pinch harmonic was probably an accident but it sounded cool. Glad you liked it!

Thanks! I was definitely going for a classic rock vibe with this one so I’m glad that came across.
