Moonset

By Saguaro Gigante on March 1, 2026 11:57 pm

This was a last minute sort of thing. Was thinking about taking a week off since I got distracted this weekend and forgot to make a track, but decided that wasn't a very good reason to skip a week! So I settled in with the little time I had left to try to make a track. There is a pretty abrupt transition in the middle that had I started earlier I may have caught and fixed but oh well!  I'm glad I was able to get something finished today! Looking forward to hearing everyone else's submissions.

NO WEEKS OFF ALLOWED! (just kidding) so awesome that you committed to this week, though, this track is so lush with beautiful movement(especially with that bubbling downward moving arpeggio that sets up the harmonic progression), and a lovely wanderlust feel in all its innovative twists and turns. Nice work!

well dang I'm glad you chose to work on week 9 cuz this gets moving right away with that slick drum bass combo.  The bassline really gets you swaying. Excellent change up with the drums and heavy synth.  Then those sky high arps gave me some A-ha - Take on Me vibes.  Awesome track!

Thank you! Glad you liked it. And yeah I'm glad I stuck with it. I don't want to feel too locked into the rigidity of having to make songs every week, but I also worry that I will tend to let myself go for months on end without making tracks if I slip haha.

Thank you! Yeah I was hoping to get some 80's pop vibes with this one so I'm glad that came through.

Ooh I like the massive bass that comes in around 1:30 but the track refuses to get waylaid.

I think it's cool to stick with it. I've just become a little jaded after years of doing it compounded with a little bit of a lackluster response to my music *outside* of the community. I need to try to get back to making odd experiments and throwaway tunes though because that's part of the creative process. What I liked about this track is that it feels very much like music for a video game from the PSX era. That arp 10 seconds in is very millenium-retro. Sudden switch up at 1:21 was dark and cool.
