Collision of Andromeda and the Milky Way

By Saguaro Gigante on April 21, 2024 11:50 pm

I had a great time making this one. Pretty tired today as last night instead of going to sleep I decided to sit down and try to write a tune. I ended up coming up with this medium tempo churning wall of noise rock jam that I was really pleased with. I finished most of the tracking last night which gave me more time to day to play around more with mixing, mastering and using compression to get the levels right. I'm still learning by experimenting but I think I managed to get something decent. I actually think this might be one of my favorite recordings this year. To me everything sounds really loud, which maybe wouldn't be appropriate for a different kind of song but I think it fits this one pretty well.

Also today I learned that in something like 4 or 5 billion years it is expected that the Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies will collide.

Super fun to listen to, great energy, I love it!

Extremely cool--loud, yes, but balanced just right. Digging the chord progression, the denser/sparser flow, the performance, arrangement...it all fits. Excellent work!

Sick song, mix sounds good. Has the tone of some awesome 90's rock which I dig. You know you like a song when your head bobs the whole song and it has parts where your scrunch your face cause it just rocks too much! haha

The title's sure bombastic but the tune is an awesome piece. It's a whole song, and the production on the guitars is top notch. Very enjoyable, the groove is strong with this one!

This is rad all the way through. I was surprised and delighted by the a capella guitar at the end. Really cool way to send it off. Nice work making it all sound intense and rockin. Surprisingly difficult to translate the energy of an amp moving air in a room to something that really bops like this in the recording, isn't it? You did a good job.

There are parts of this that make me think of Red Sparrows or Weedpecker, in terms of how you blended the ethereal lead guitar with the heavier guitars. That part a 2:45 is super nice. Awesome chords, awesome spacing, awesome building drum part and rising bass line. It's just super sick. Really nice closer too with the main melody.

Great track all around.  Very nice arrangement, well played and mixed guitars, I especially like the processing on the drums.  The snare has great presence and hats sound awesome.

Gave me some old school 90s grunge era vibes early on.  Easily could've heard Chris Cornell wailing on this in those opening lines.  Excellent chord progression especially around the 2min mark as it dances around the drums.  Drums and the cymbals especially sound awesome in the mix.  Crunchy riffs at the 3min mark.  This rocks! \m/  Intricate guitar melodies throughout.   Oh ya those splashy cymbals! *Airdrums!*  Well done!
