Coalescence

This week I wasn't sure what direction I was going to go in for this week's song, but I decided to mess with some virtual instruments again and I got this sentimental sounding track. I put it together at a slow tempo since I'm not a keyboardist, but then sped it up to where it sounded right. Sometimes putting together chords with MIDI is difficult since I'm using my typing keyboard (no MIDI controller yet) and only have about one octave available at any given time. I'm primarily a guitar player so I'm used to thinking in movable shapes, but with only one octave I've had to try to work out inversions of the chords I want so that I can play them. It's been fun learning a new way of thinking about chords!

Really enjoy all this synth stuff you've been making.

this track was really nice man. Left me feeling pretty good.

Using the digital controller can be a pain in the ass, but i keep bouncing between my hardware and the digital one. I've found the digital is nice for straightforward pieces, the hardware is great for more subtle or balls out stuff.

Bro, next time you come over just take that Casio piano I have in the garage and use that for midi.

I loved this by the way. This sounds like a super mario galaxy song or something. The synth sounds you chose sound awesome and I especially like the trilling notes over some of the spicier chord changes, which makes the whole thing sound so smooth.

Dude, just like Viridian I felt like I was in a Mario world with puffy stars and clouds. haha.

Ooooh yais when that epiano melody kicks in I'm wisked away to an airy lush tropical world.  The drums and bass play off that solo so nicely too.  Awesome chord changes too.  Well done!

The sound twinkle and shine. This is a dreamy track, with a slightly vintage sound.

This is really lovely, instant favorite (~‾⌣‾)~.  The melodies and harmonies are just very fitting for the vibe.  Fun, chill, lots of movement, but without being busy.  Very nice.  And yeah, I agree with all the Mario references... feels to me like it would be in the overworld of a special level zone, or something.  I think it would loop really nicely too.
