Chasm

I had a lot of fun with this one! Decided to try a full electronic tune this time. I've been experimenting with adding in electronic sounds to my usual rock and metal songs but decided to try doing an entirely electronic song this time. All the synthesizers and drums are Logic presets that I found and then adjusted to my liking. I learned some new things this week with using my computer's keyboard to type notes in close to where I wanted them and then using quantization and manual adjusting to get the rhythm that I actually wanted. This is a lot quicker than drawing them in for when I don't know what I want already. Also learned a bit about the drum pattern sequencer feature which is how I put together the drum beats. There are some fun things you can edit on the individual drum hits with the sequencer.

Aw shit, Saguaro is entering the matrix. Digging that melody at 0:57, that bass line at 2:00 is deep (I know it's the same as earlier, it's just more prominent on it's own without the melody), and you got some really interesting percussive elements throughout the track, which is pretty cool because it definitely sounds like you're having fun and experimenting with the new concepts.

Damn that part at 1:58 got me goin bro!

Nice, man. I got this "werewolves preparing for battle" kind of vibe from it. I think it's pretty cool when a composition can conjure images like that.

I'll comment again because I'm listening with Donna. She says the beginning sounds like the start to an 80's horror movie which I can see. And yeah, now that I'm listening to it again with that in mind, it does have a lot of retro-horror elements to it that I dig.

Holy what the.

This is very Tron to me, and that is a high compliment. Really good. Love the kick drum pulse motif. Neat sounds. Well done.

Fuck yeah! Very futuristic vibes, but almost retro

Deep and dark, feels right for a James Bond game.
Good work on the keys, too.
