It was a cool early fall evening. Well, maybe a little muggy still. I recorded this back in September in a favorite painting spot. There was a young couple a little ways down the creek having a picnic or camping. They left a plastic grocery bag with oranges close to the path and I wanted to steal one because I was hungry and thirsty. I climbed the chunky outcroppings and found a perch to sit and play. I stayed a little too long. Maybe I’m confusing my days, I came back later at some point and spent the whole day out there playing recorder and sketching the knotted tree.
