The Great Hodaddy Robot Fetch

By Ryan on June 24, 2018 9:33 am

My name is Ryan and I like Surf Music.

My daughter is relentlessly fascinated with robots this week, who can blame her.

A short ode to reverb tank drip, a wonderful sound.

Nice permutation of the surf vibe. Clever blending with the 60s organ.

I've listened to this track like 5 times, I guess it's time to download it smile Very cool sound. Can't beat that organ and guitar playing in unison. Now, if somehow you could combine your passion for surf music with your daughter's fascination of robots? Get out the soldering iron and get to work!

I really like the drum build-ups announcing the organ/guitar tandem, this has 'robot overlord theme song' written all over it. Also now after looking it up, I know what a reverb tank drip is and this is definitely a nice ode to it smile

Nice work on the piano too, plays really well with the guitar.

This does have a robots (and/or a supervillain) trying to take over the world vibe.  Can't blame your daughter for her robot obsession.  They are cool.  Even if they probably will rise up and destroy us someday while playing this track.

Yay I learned something today!  Never knew about a reverb drip tank effect.  I googlized it before to get an idea and yay i feel smrt.  Seriously though another catchy track especially when the guitar gets extra mean towards the end.  Robot stuff going down!

PS.  That last riff gave me a stupid question smile  Have you ever covered the Ren & Stimpy theme?

Thanks for listening! Was a bit of a rush job this week but I'm not totally unhappy with it.

I wish I knew how to solder, I'd make robots with reverb tanks in them!

I wish I owned a real tank but the bank account definitely doesn't allow for that sort of thing. Thanks for listening.

My daughter has been quite enthusiastic regarding the robot uprising, we may have to talk.

I have never covered the Ren and Stimpy theme which is a large failure on my part I think. Have to give it a go.

Well robots ARE pretty fucking cool.
