The Churly Fang

By Ryan on April 22, 2018 11:01 am

My name is Ryan and I like Surf Music.

There isn't always time to surf, but there is always a longing to surf.

I can't listen to this without getting seasick.

Apologies if the mastering is stupidly loud, I don't know what I'm doing and it's a position I'm comfortable with.

Gross.

This sounds straight out of a Wes Anderson movie. I dig it! Cool ass tone.

It's particularly churly when that synthy/organ sound comes in. I like it.

Sounds old and weathered in a good way. Are those pukuleles ejecting overboard?

Sentimental surf music this week. I like it too.

Has a bit of a sea shanty feel. I like the strange vocal sounds.

I like!  Is the synthy part some type of mellotron emulation?  If not, it sounds very much like one of which I am also a fan of.
Bonus points for the wooziness.

Heh, puke.

Nice work on the vocals.

hahahahahahahaha! Yeah the image got me too!

Very nice track Ryan, the mastering isn't too loud for me if anything (although I'm no mastering expert) smile I like the saturation!

this is great, surfing or not smile

Def has a cool wes anderson soundtrack feel to it smile  Really cool sounding mellotron patch with the pukes too.  I enjoyed the lil switch off as well. "plurp"

Thanks for having a listen. Back to the guitars next week for the standard fare.

They are indeed Pukuleles.

Actually the sound you're hearing is just the standard Kontakt string ensemble but the whole track has been mastered using the iZotope vinyl plugin with a hefty amount of pitch warp.

Thank you muchly, felt a bit loud and squishy to me but it was a rush job.

Your most mysterious tune so far yikes The strings in the second half are so nice, very well executed heart Nice addition of vocals man!

Something clompletly different.
But very nice mood with the vocals and that synth!

lovely
