Stereo Yes Unwitting

Always the first steps

I welcome all critical feedback.

I'm back from the US but still plenty busy. I'm curious about all the work people released in the past few weeks but haven't had any time to listen. I'm sorry about that. In fact, ironically, the only day I could spend on music this week was tormented by a series of electricity-cutting thunderstorms. So this is kind of speedtrash, submitted less than an hour before the deadline.

126 BPM 4/4, C-minor. Analog Rytm with a noisy purely analog kit sets the beat, a pair of Mother-32s provides both the stereo bass and the stereo acid, Subharmonicon fakes a clangy guitar, Iridium provides the rest.

Disappointed this wasn't actually speed thrash! But it's ok because this is a rad track. That acidy synth at 1:00 is sweet - the track really comes together after that with the choral pads and the strings bringing up the energy at the end.

I love how "big" this gets without relying heavily on drums. Makes me think of your kickless techno from earlier, though this does have a kick. Great chord progression and arrangement, impressed you are able to put something like this together so quickly!

Glad to hear you like the mix. To be frank, it was somewhat of an accident. The choral parts added late in the game somewhat overpowered the low end, pushing the bass and drums into the background. I might attempt a more traditional mix for this to see how that changes the vibe.

yeah, this sounds massive! always amazed that you can throw something this detailed and expressive together in such a short amount of time. glad you made it back home safely. hope the states treated you ok.

The percussion is yummy, what grabbed me was what seems to be a diminished C chord that happens at the end of some phrases, that progression sounded particularly good, at least to my ears. Overall, it sounds like some sort of mystical cyberpunk tune.

This was epic. I liked the large bass and the cinematic aspect of the the high leads. Critical feedback - i wish it were longer.

this has expanded my mind! beautiful arrangement and sound design and mix

yikes - hope the weather has calmed where you are - it's fun to hear what people make at speed - this is full of fun sounds and textures
