Skill Issue

I welcome all critical feedback.

···

A step sideways since I'm doing something larger that I might or might not be able to finish in the coming weeks.

Two instances of Polyend Synth's VAP engine. Each performed live in one take, respectively. Drums also performed live in one take on an Analog Rytm MKII.

D-minor.

I really liked this track and equally liked being able to watch you play it.  It's an odd comparison, and forgive me if I use the wrong words, but the lead synth on the left tonally made me think of lead guitar in certain black metal songs - the way they can add some drama and melancholy.  It really resonated me.

love the synthy arp thing. this whole track gels really nicely. superb mood.

Creative use of the pad layout on the main melody. The three pads descending sounds nice. Did you clone yourself? That’s illegal sir

Great and love when the kit breaks in.

excellent track, and very cool to see your process!

No issues here, this is all cracked. Some of the best sounds to come out one of those things.

What a rich sound, yeah clearly no skill issues here lol The right/purple synth playing is particularly impressive to me. This arrangement of sounds feels really clever, I would have guessed there are way "more" parts going on if I couldn't see all three of them in the video. I suddenly want a Polyend but I would have no clue how to use it haha.

That's an excellent comparison, thank you for that!

It's a lot of work to record video with your music, and you did that for so many submissions. Kudos!

I appreciate the compliment!

Some synth sounds can serve multiple roles when they respond well across multiple octaves. The flip side of that is that those kinds of timbres can overpower a mix, so then you need to EQ them aggressively, or just limit the number of parts in a song, like I did here. Thanks for stopping by!
