I welcome all critical feedback.

A change of pace. A few weeks back I watched the movie Past Lives. It's a romantic movie but not a romcom. In fact, it's unique in quite a few ways. I recommend you watch it, it's just 105 minutes long and well worth it. One review called it "an exceptional, intimately powerful directorial debut" and I agree.

Anyway, the movie stuck with me. This track is a meditation on the story in particular, and the inyeon subject matter in general.

74 BPM 4/4, C-major. Analog Rytm with a mix of TR-707 samples and internal sounds. Yamaha CP300 piano. Opsix does the bass, the lead, and the ghosty pads. Cover art is a stylized still from the movie.

This flowing meditative track brings me joy.

Thanks for the movie suggestion too!

Drop dead gorgeous. You did great work on that piano and it meshes so well with the synth.

Those drums in the intro tickled the ears nicely. You got any sort of phaser or flanger on them? I’ve been throwing everything into one on the returns lately and been pretty stoked on it. Might have thickened up the sauce a little.

Synth at the end is really nice. What’s the synth and effects on that?

Beautiful piano work, and nice to hear more of your range here. Really lovely track overall and a great change of pace.

this is a really gorgeous track, loved it 100% - from the piano and gentle synths at the beginning, to the gorgeous synth lead at the end. my fave so far this year.

Very nice.

So lovely, the piano is beautiful smile I love how the drums manage to be super chill while also driving things forward, great use of echo, reverb, and panning. I've been meaning to watch this movie and I think this is the push I needed to actually do it!

Powerful culmination in there around the 3 minute mark. Wonderful song!

Nicely done. Watched the movie as well before 👍

Thanks, Spider. This week I uploaded a track
I dare calling chip metal, too. Check it out!

The drums come from Analog Rytm, a hardware drum machine. It glues together separate sounds in a very pleasant way. It sounds complete, I love it. There is a slight (filtered) reverb and delay on the entire kit added in Ableton Live.

The synth on the lead is Opsix. It's a preset called "127 Inspirational Story". To me it sounds a bit like the synths Clannad used for the "Robin of Sherwood" soundtrack.

Thank you, I appreciate the compliment and encouragement. I'm somewhat hesitant to go all over the place week to week as to avoid alienating the listeners. It's good to hear at least someone appreciates it big_smile

Wow, thank you so much! Your fave of mine, I presume? I have a few piano pieces on Weekly Beats 2022.
