ventilator (demux) (041020_110bpm)

This is a weird re-creation/reinterpretation of my track from Week 7 of Weeklybeats 2016 (here), which I later polished and named it "Ventilator" off my Gradient Ascent LP (a 'best of' wb2016 release).
So yeah, I remembered being really satisfied with how gritty that burst of noise was and it was all internal effects in Maschine. Dug up the project and although not everything loaded, that sound in Maschine did (just bumping the Maximizer drive to 100%, hah). I took a coupla snippets and wanted to re-interpret it, into a more menacing/frenzied IDM tune. Don't feel like I got exactly what I was hoping for. Maybe just need to adjust levels more or extend it, we'll see. Miiight fit into an IDM release I'm working on, shhh.
Pretty fitting sounds given the past week at work. Super stressed out about this ultra-highlevel event I am coordinating with HR and our University President. Ya know, no pressure. All while getting added onto a different high-level working group. And a million meetings. I got 0 hours of sleep Tuesday night, then 10 on Wednesday (only from exhaustion). My sleep schedule is still a mess. Happy to have the past Friday off. Organized more Ableton stuff (Effects Racks), and a coupla terabytes of video/design footage/assets that has been a mess for too long. Still plenty of work, but at least I can control that. Here's hoping the week ahead doesn't drive me totally crazy, otherwise I'm sure you'll hear power electronics or 200bpm+ digital hardcore.
