Someday in the Rain

Pretty happy with how this turned out. I worked on a bunch of different tracks this week. False starts, meandering excursions, total duds. Really thought I was going to upload some crap this week. But then yesterday I found this little sample kit I'd made months ago for LSDJ and never did anything with. The chords seemed to fit the rainy afternoon and I got into this slow vibe and banged out this track.

One Gameboy running the latest version of LSDJ. The sample kit was made from a late 70s soft rock track. The little break in the middle feels a little empty but I didn't really want to put a melody there. Might try sampling a bit more of the song to stick in there.

Oh this is so goddamn smooth, could listen to it on repeat all day, loving your kit work!

love the kit work on this! Need to incorporate more of it into my own stuff after hearing this.

aaaah this is great bud. thanks for the music!

This works great! Impressed with how you've been blending lsdj with non-lsdj for the last couple of weeks. Never sounds out of place.

The noise in the first part feels indeed like rain. Great!
The melody has quite the right mood. I like the drum sound for the break.
Composition is quite nice, like forgetting the rain.... and than back in reality...
The ending is maybe a bit harsh wink

Very cool samplework as usual! Hard panned subtle noise is a nice touch smile

that fill into the chorus!!! gah, this is so wonderful. I kinda like the sparse middle section, makes the beat all the more powerful when it hits back in. If you can find a cool sample to pop in there from the source though, go for it, would only enhance an already great track.

Very nice progression and instrumentation, it feels like the rain comes and goes.

Everyone already mentioned the excellent samplework and noise use but I also wanted to add that the bass after the break is amazing big_smile

Oh damn this is the stuff! A refreshing reminder that there are still exciting and interesting things that can be done with LSDJ.
