The Live 10 update came out this week, so I started with a drum beat (dry funk kit single hits...through the new Drum Buss, which sounds great). I also twiddled the action on my Danelectro Baritone, and, inspired by the new feel, suddenly came up with this bass line...so in it went. I tracked a bit of guitar (Res-O-Glas), but wasn't happy with those parts and put them aside. I put some keys on, took them off, couldn't decide quite what to do...and then over the weekend I retracked the baritone (pickups in series, through Auto-Filter with a lot of drive), put down some Moog Guitar through Auto-Pan set to tremolo, tracked some new Res-O-Glas guitar through the wah pedal, Auto-Filter, and Cabinet, then got down some Electric (through LFO Auto-Filter) and a bit of Hammond-like organ...and there we are.
Sends: Convolution Reverb and the new Ableton Echo. A touch of M4L Humanizer on the drums, also...but I'm a sloppy enough keyboardist that I didn't need it on the keys. Full-Chain Master on the two-channel output.
Title from one of the crystallization modes of Carbon, element 6.
