Control Arms

Spent more time this week mixing than composing. Still learning to listen for mix balance, clarity, separation, all those things that sound so easy in theory but are kind of tricky (for me) in practice.

I like those heavily delayed synths, mixing those is as much a mixing problem as a sound design/composition problem I feel, since nobody can tell you what synths should sound like, whereas for drums/guitar/vocals/piano etc it feels like there are some more established patterns. bass is groovy and legit. I have no feedback on the mix, sounds alright to me but I guess there could be more brightness applied somehow (?!?!?!?!?! maybe that's more of a mastering thing. just add soundgoodizer tbh)

also - those things sound easy in theory??? where is this easy sounding theory you speak of?

LOL, you have a point -- "create separation and depth" -- I understand the words and I recognize it when I hear it.  But making it happen is another thing entirely.  Thanks for listening, and for the thoughtful response.
