The Restless City

By rdomain on April 19, 2026 12:05 pm

All created on the OP-1 Field on a recent trip to Melbourne.  I only got back tonight in time to master and upload the track!

Most of the track is created from a recording I took using the inbuilt mic on the OP-1 Field of the noise of the city late at night from balcony of the high-rise apartment I was staying in.  Only the organ type sound isn't.

The entire track was mixed direct from the OP-1 Field to a stereo file for mastering.  Such a great travelling instrument!

love the cityscape loop! and the organ too

This fills your space with dread from that repeating stab of noise and the thumping kick like sound, what a fantastic use of the sounds paired with the limited equipment.

so good. you are so good at creating such a visceral space & feeling with your music

The steam air like sound is like the breathing of a huge mechanical animal. It contrasts with the light pads floating above. Cinematic!

Thanks so much for all the amazing comments. I really do appreciate it.  I'm currently struggling to find time to listen and leave comments but I'll try my best to play catch up this weekend.  heart
