Smash and Grab

I love hardware.

This track was created in two takes.  One take of me jamming out with the DSI Tempest and Mono Evolver at the same time (recorded to a stereo track from a mixer even!)  Second take is an improvisation with the Monotron Delay.  Sure there are things you can do with software which you can't do with hardware but there is also lots of stuff you can do with hardware which you can't do with software and over the years I'm finding hardware more and more inspirational.

I can understand some of the appeal (immediate feedback); but different strokes for, etc. I just sold my MS-20.

Oh for sure.  Don't get me wrong, I still get into programming software like a madman too.  It's just times like this where you're like... YES!!  smile

ps.  And to do anything similar like this in software would be quite time consuming!

Top marks on the hardware front - so much more fun and rewarding. Dig the grit and grime here, nice!

Cheers matey!  big_smile

I can definitely see hardware as being more spontaneous and allow for more improvisation.  Fantastic bass on this track, I really like the squelches at the midway point

Great track, and very well structured with just the right amount of variation throughout!
And it reminded me I need to play my Monotron more, it's been neglected lately, although I never seem to make mine work this well.

Thanks guys.  Glad ya dig!  Hardware is great for improv and being more spontaneous for sure.  big_smile

Crank that Monotron!  smile
